A nationwide contest called "Sing A Nation" is organised to search vocal talents in the Philippines, for the first time in the history. Ten singing groups will be chosen from the auditions that will eventually forms a 2,100-member choir called "Sing A Nation". Over four weeks, one group will emerge as the winner, the group in the NDP that will lead off the Combined Choir. The nine remaining groups will join the choir, singing the liturgical songs during the Mass.
