New songs in Martin-Regine Valentine show ‘Voices of Love’

Apart from their signature hits as well as classic love songs, Martin Nievera and Regine Velasquez will perform other special numbers in the “Voices of Love” Valentine show at SM Mall Of Asia Arena.
“Yes, believe it or not, may mga bago,” the Concert King says during a media conference about the repertoire, adding, “’Yung mga bagong songs, puro requests. So, we’ll be doing songs like ‘Wrecking Ball.’ I don’t know the songs; I’m still learning.”
Martin looks forward to another successful show with Regine whom he first worked with in a concert some 10 years ago. Martin recalls, “She was young and immature; and I’m supposed to be the mature and old one.”
But now, Martin admits, “She seems to be the more mature one, she seems to be more grounded, she seems to be happier with her life the way it is. I’m still reaching for my dreams.”
He adds: “I’ve never met anyone as okay with herself than Regine. She’s such a great singer and an unbelievably big star. She focuses on family and God…her values are intact. As an artist, I’m always looking forward to working with her. She works real hard, she’s a singing machine. You have to be ready if you want to perform with her.”
Martin is grateful to ABS-CBN for allowing him to work with Regine, a GMA-7 talent. “Channel 2 loves Regine; anything with her is okay lang,” he said.
About himself, Martin said “I am okay with who I am right now. It doesn’t matter that sometimes you’re overlooked or you’ve been surpassed…but there are days when I want to feel the fact that I made a contribution.”
The singer-TV host admits that he is among those wishing for the end of the so-called network wars.
“We all need each other to survive. Dapat walang war. We have so many artists, and we all need work. Spread the wealth, spread the joy.”
But of course, his loyalty is with his home network. “I’m Kapamilya. Until they don’t want me anymore or until I have nothing to else to do for them then that’s the time I have to move on,” he said.
A constant in Martin’s busy schedule is the Sunday variety show “ASAP.”
“Even if I have to change station, I would never do a show against ‘ASAP.’ I would rather do a cooking show. I started the show kasi, ako ang nag-isip ng title,” Martin revealed.
“Voices of Love” is produced by Cacai Velasquez-Mitra and Anna Puno of Starmedia Productions, with PLDT Home as co-presenter. Major sponsors include Bench, Victoria Court, McDonald’s, Pacific Blue Shades and Watches, while minor sponsors are Farlin Baby Products, Zim Cleanser and Luxent Hotel. Patron sponsors are Pest Off, Midas Hotel & Casino and BonaKid School.
