Hollywood actor-producer Mark Wahlberg will be hosting this year’s Nickelodeon 27th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards.
Wahlberg earned Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for his performance in “The Fighter” and Martin Scorsese’s acclaimed drama “The Departed.” Most recently, he played Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell in “Lone Survivor,” which he also produced. He will also be seen in Michael Bay’s “Transformers: Age of Extinction.” He also produced the HBO shows “Entourage,” “Boardwalk Empire” and “In Treatment.”
A committed philanthropist, Wahlberg started the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation in 2001 to benefit inner city children and teens.
Dubbed the ultimate kid experience, Nickelodeon 27th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards will be held at the University of Southern California’s Galen Center on April 2.
“We are thrilled to welcome a superstar like Mark Wahlberg as he takes the helm as our master of ceremonies at the biggest kid event of the year,” said Russell Hicks, Nickelodeon’s President of Content Development and Production. “We can’t wait for him to take the stage and have lots of slime-filled fun with Hollywood’s biggest stars and our audience.”
Fans will be able to get on the slime as they get to vote for their favorite actors, shows, movies and musicians online. Voting for the 2014 KCAs span six continents, across 17 localized voting sites.
Viewers can also log on to kca.nick-asia.com to know more about Wahlberg.
Starting last month, the full “Kids’ Choice Awards” digital experience was launched across desktop and mobile devices. Leading up to the March event, kids can watch wacky videos, play funny KCA-themed games, and get constant updates on the slime feast to come.
The 2014 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards will be seen in more than 375 million households around the world.
Nickelodeon, now on its 35th year globally and 16th year in Asia, is one of the most globally recognized and widely distributed multimedia entertainment brands for kids and family.

Another Promising Year For Jodi Sta. Maria
The year of the horse is looking very promising indeed for Jodi Sta. Maria.
“Be Careful With My Heart,” her show with Richard Yap, continues to be among TV top-raters. Viewers just couldn’t get enough of Ser Chief and Maya, especially now that they are expecting twins.
The teleserye may continue the whole of 2014, and so, the movie version may not materialize any sooner. “We just don’t have the time to shoot the movie at this time,” a production insider said.
Going back to Jodi, the actress recently signed another endorsement deal, this time with Flawless.
Jodi said, “I’m so happy to be the newest member of the Flawless family. Of course I’ve been hearing about Flawless for years now at nakikita ko rin ’yun mga clinics nila sa malls at mga ads nila, but it was only late last year when I actually started going to their clinic.”
The award-winning actress thanks the brand for taking care of her skin and helping her maintain a fresh appearance despite her demanding schedule.
“Siyempre sa trabaho natin, madalas puyatan talaga tapos madalas pa nakatapat ka sa maraming ilaw or naarawan ka,” Jodi added. “Eh, ‘di lang naman ’yun ginagawa ko. Aside from my work, I take care of Thirdy rin tapos I’m studying pa and running my own business, so really, my schedule can sometimes get the best of me talaga. In other words, malakas maka-haggard.”
Among her favorites is Flawless’ Cell Booster Infusion Mask.
“You really look and feel very fresh after the treatment. Perfect siya sa mga super hectic na tao na naghahanap ng treatment na instant ’yung effect,” she said.
